The Atom CE5300 media chip launched by Intel has put the company once again on the front page of world business news. This chip for smart TVs and set top boxes will allow the users to watch TV broadcasts, access the internet and even video conference. Intel had wound up its retail digital TV services last October and the launching of this new chip may help it to recapture the smart TV market again.
Intel's previous attempts of putting chips directly into the branded television sets failed due to a number of reasons.
